I said Page 4 would be an interesting one! I’m fairly happy with how this one turned out. This page was done entirely with a 10 cent Bic ballpoint pen. I always love using art materials that were never meant to be art materials.
I could have fit one more line of text in there. However, that would have been Jesus’s first line in this volume, and I want that to be a bigger deal than just being shoved in the corner. Plus, it would have to be in red pen, and I didn’t want the only spot of color in the page to be way down there.
The background here, in case you were wondering, is a pool float. The wonderful cheap-o pen is also visible.
Anyway, Happy Independence Day, everyone! I hope you’re having better weather than I am!

This is excellent. I love that the pages are starting to adopt visual “themes.” Can’t wait to see what upcoming styles you incorporate.
I’m so happy I found this. I have been wanting to start the exact same project and you have inspired me to stop putting it off and start sketching.
And you, in turn, have inspired me to do the same. As you can tell by the date, I have fairly well neglected this project. I have most of page 5 done, but I’ve just stopped working on it. Now though, I think I’ll start up again.
Of course, the next page is the end of chapter 1, so I have to start on my translation of chapter 2 now…
Hey, cool project. Good to read in your FAQ that you found the Open English Bible of some use too – its free so keep taking and using as much as you are inspired to!
